TIAW World of Difference Awards
 
While much of Betty-Ann's mentorship activity has focused on helping women make advances in business, she has also made a commitment to helping women around the world. Her post-retirement travels have given her the opportunity to see the struggles and triumphs of women from Guatemala to Africa, and has marveled at the strength these women show against insurmountable odds.
 
Recently she took the opportunity to thank those who have committed their lives to aiding these women. The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) annually hosts the "World of Difference Awards" to honor those who have made a positive impact on the economic empowerment of women around the world. To show her appreciation for these extraordinary women Betty-Ann was the presenting sponsor of the awards in 2009 and highlighted their stories in her blog.
