BETTY-ANN HEGGIE NAMED FINALIST IN 6th ANNUAL
STEVIE AWARDS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS

One of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women Nominated in 2 Categories

SASKATOON, SK (October 15, 2009) - Betty-Ann Heggie, one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women and a former senior executive at PotashCorp, has been named a finalist in two categories of the Stevie Awards recognizing women in business. The two categories are "Women Helping Women" and "Mentor of the Year."

Betty-Ann Heggie, now a corporate speaker who talks to audiences about balancing masculine and feminine energy in their lives, earned her finalist positions because of her efforts to advance women in the corporate world. In 2009, she donated money to her alma mater, the University of Saskatchewan, to develop the "Womentorship" program to support the advancement of women into executive leadership positions through mentorship. This unique new program will provide assistance to women of all ages, both students and alumnae, to provide mentoring, coaching, professional development, networking, and scholarship opportunities. Through this endowment, Betty-Ann Heggie is enabling a new generation of women to take the helm and achieve new levels of professional success.

Betty-Ann is also this year's presenting sponsor of The International Alliance for Women's "World of Difference" Awards, honoring the extraordinary achievements of women throughout the world - from the well known to the "unsung heroines" - who have made a difference in the economic empowerment of other women in the world.

"I am most honored to be recognized amongst such wonderful women who have dedicated so much for the advancement of our gender," commented Betty-Ann Heggie.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. Winners will be announced during an event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York City on Friday, November 13. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the United States and abroad are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live on radio in the US by the Business TalkRadio Network.

More than 1,100 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories, and business professionals worldwide chose finalists during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners during final judging.
